About Cat’s Corner Veterinary Hospital
Cat’s Corner Veterinary Hospital is a feline-exclusive, AAHA-accredited practice in Oxford, CT. Founded by Dr. Erika Ball as the all-cat hospital she had long envisioned, we’ve cared for cats and their owners since 2008, pairing high standards of medicine with a calm, dog-free environment built entirely around feline patients.
A Cat-Only Practice, By Design
Cat’s Corner began with a simple conviction: cats deserve medicine shaped entirely around them. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1997 and working across many hospital settings, Dr. Erika Ball opened the all-feline practice she had long envisioned. Our mission grows from that idea — a clean, quiet space free of the stress of a traditional hospital, gentle handling by a trained and certified team, lasting relationships built on clear information for confident decisions, and a focus on preventive medicine that helps cats live longer, healthier lives. Standards Most Clinics Never Pursue
Accreditation isn’t required for animal hospitals, which is exactly why it matters to us. Our vision is to keep providing the highest quality of care by continually growing our knowledge of veterinary medicine and staying current with advances in the field. As an AAHA-accredited, Cat Friendly and Fear Free practice, Cat’s Corner is held to standards most clinics never take on, and we were named a third-place winner in AAHA’s 2012 Practice of the Year Awards. Here’s what that commitment looks like by the numbers:
Only about 12–15% of animal hospitals in the U.S. and Canada earn AAHA accreditation, a distinction we’ve proudly held and renewed through rigorous review.
AAHA evaluates accredited hospitals against more than 900 standards for patient care, safety, pain management, and equipment, re-evaluated every three years.
The Values Behind Every Visit
A clear set of commitments shapes how we treat every cat and every client who comes through our doors.
